Whether we are reading fiction or nonfiction, the discussions are illuminating. We are a collaborative group with everyone sharing ideas and reactions. We all gain new perspectives on the book of the month and on the wider world. We also connect more deeply with one another. We invite anyone who enjoys reading and talking about books to consider joining us. Here are some of the upcoming books.
Book Group is usually held on the first Thursday of the month at 10:30am in person and on UUCC's Zoom.
February 5 ~ Catalina: A Novel, Villavicencio (224 pages)
March 5 ~ Cloistered: My Years as a Nun, Coldstream (328 pages)
April 2 ~ Heartwood, Gaige (320 pages)
May 7 ~ The Ride of Her Life, Letts (336 pages)
June 4 ~ West with Giraffes, Rutledge (346 pages)

Kinship Yoga
Kinship Yoga has been offered at UUCC since 2016. Yoga is an ancient practice that links movement with breath and intention. Each class includes effort and ease, strength and flexibility, balance and stability. And each class includes seated poses, reclined poses, and standing poses.
Yoga is held weekly on Tuesdays at 5:00pm in the Sanctuary.

Community Taiji
Taiji practice will begin with meditative and easy-to-follow qi gong exercises, followed by some basic instruction in a Yang style taiji form. Group facilitator, Karen Allen, first learned a medium length taiji form with David Spahr and more recently studied a long Yang style form with Priyadarshi George. Others who have studied with Priyadarshi may assist with instruction. There will be an opportunity to practice the full form the end of the hour. All are welcome regardless of experience. Community Taiji will be held weekly on Sundays at 3:30pm in the Fellowship Hall.
