Janet Caldwell, Nancy Fritz, Kathy Kellison, Michaela Loisel, Debbie Mattson, Lori Milner, and June Zellers attended two days of workshops and fellowship at Maple Hill Farm sponsored by The BTS Center. The activities focused on discerning our spiritual leadership roles and strengthening our relationships with each other and the larger sentient world in this time of climate catastrophe.

Updates on Climate Justice Work

Mark your calendars for November 9th at 11:30. The Social Justice Committee is facilitating a follow up discussion regarding the congregation's Green Sanctuary Process. We will begin assessing what we have accomplished so far and begin identifying short-term and long-term goals. The meeting will be held in the Sanctuary.

Community Garden ~ Green Team

Our Community Garden Green Team is dedicated to exploring and implementing ways that UUCC can mitigate and adapt to climate change, inspired by the wider UUA Green Sanctuary initiative.  We are beginning this work with envisioning how the landscape around our buildings can incorporate both native habitat plantings that increase water and habitat resilience and community garden areas for growing food, flowers, and herbs.

The UUCC Green Team has begun to have regular meetings, invited new participants, drafted a proposal of intention that has been approved by the church board, and is dreaming big green dreams together.  Over the winter we also intend to convene a listening and conversation session with our UUCC community about what we're dreaming up.  Please Reach out to us to learn more about our ministry and how you can be a part of it.
