Sunday Morning Programs for Children and Youth

(Nursery through 18 years of age)

Nursery care is available for children through 4 years of age. The Nursery is next to the Fellowship Hall. Nursery care is available at both services.

Programs for children and youth are offered during first and second services. Children are invited to participate in either or both sessions.

First-service worship for children and youth

begins at 9:15 either in the Fellowship Hall with a Young UU Worship or in the Sanctuary with a Time For All Ages.  We follow a ritual of chalice lighting, singing, a message of the day, an offering, a prayer, and a benediction.  Time together is followed by age-specific religious exploration classes that provide opportunities for structured exploration of Unitarian Universalism, ethics discernment, right relations, and faith in action.

Second-service worship for children and youth

begins at 11:00 in the Sanctuary.  After chalice lighting, singing, and a Time For All Ages in the Sanctuary, children and youth of all ages gather for Spirit Play, a hands-on, creative religious exploration program. Participants are invited to explore their beliefs through the ideas brought up in the story at a Time for All Ages. Spirit Play honors multiple ways of learning in a concrete environment rich with story, spirituality, and art. Children may choose to draw or paint a picture, create sculpture or crafts, engage in yoga, or build community through shared play.
