Church Renovation

Change is afoot at UUCC Augusta!

To our delight, we realized our congregation had grown too large to comfortably house everyone in the sanctuary and to have adequate space for our children and youth. In 2007 an adjacent building on Winthrop Street was purchased with the hope of better meeting our space needs. The congregation voted to do the renovation work themselves. Fortunately for UUCC, we discovered a previously unknown cadre of extremely skilled workers among our church family.

The pictures in the gallery below capture only a tiny portion of the work and the workers during what turned out to be a full year of back breaking work and unflagging (well, mostly unflagging) commitment from the congregation. Crews usually worked 2 full Saturdays a month for a year.

The Religious Education Department and the minister are currently in the process of moving into their new digs!
